SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
System Compatibility Test
In your class confirmation, towards the bottom, you will have a link from iLinc.com : “Want to Prepare Your System Ahead of Time?”, followed by a series of blue letters.
If you click on this blue-lettered link, iLinc will install its software on your computer, and will give you a system test, to make sure your browser, desktop or laptop is compatible with the iLinc platform.
Basically, any desktop or laptop made within the last five years, and connected to a high-speed data link will be compatible. However, note the browser qualifications below.
If you wish to verbally participate in the class, you must have a microphone/headset combination, connected through your computer’s USB port (the small rectangular port into which you might plug speakers). Among microphone/headset combinations, we recommend the Sennheiser PC-36 USB, and some of the Logitech combinations, such as L23-6678.
If you are not using a microphone, you can send your instructor messages through the iLinc ‘chat’ function, which you will see on the left side of your classroom; the email box is at the bottom.
